Principal soloist auditions for the Christmas musical, “Child of the Promise,” will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Sand Lake Wesleyan Church, N5761 Hwy. SN, Onalaska. Fifteen male and three female soloists are needed. Leading roles are the angel Gabriel, Mary, Joseph, Zacharias and Elizabeth. Interested persons should come prepared to sing a song of choice; a pianist is provided. The 80-minute musical is sponsored by Coulee Region Gospel Choir. Included are a pork sandwich with potato, vegetable, beverage and dessert. Cost is $8, $4 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for children 4 and younger. Rally Sunday school is at 9 a.m., with one service at 10 a.m. For more information, (608) 372-4543.
Evangelist Ken Lynch of Chester, Pa., will be the speaker for special 6:30 p.m. meetings Sept. 7-11 at Temple Baptist Church, 1326 North Salem Road. Lynch will preach and provide music. His wife, Barbara, will conduct nightly children’s meetings. For more information, call (608) 781-2878.
