Monday, the two local promoters of a carless lifestyle will present their Transportation Liberation Roadshow as part of a kick-off event for World Carfree Week.
The show will be 7:30 p.m. at Port O’ Call in the Cartwright Center at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, part of the Carfree Equinox Party that will begin at 7 p.m.

The couple went carfree themselves in 2004, when they sold a truck they hardly used.
Among the bicycles they now use is a recumbent tandem, which they call their stretch limo.
Other local bicycle organizations and advocates also will participate in Monday’s event.
Additional events are scheduled throughout the week, including the chance to learn how to use bicycle racks on city buses from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday on Badger Street in front of UW-L’s Whitney Center.
