Father, son charged in Shawano-Marathon bust

ELAND, Wis. (AP) — A father and son face charges in what authorities call one of the biggest marijuana operations they've seen in the area.

Shawano County sheriff's deputies reported seizing about 100 marijuana plants worth an estimated $200,000 when they executed a search warrant Thursday in the town of Germania where the plants were being harvested.

Marathon County authorities said they seized 200 pounds of processed marijuana, additional plants, money and a trailer in Elderon where processing allegedly was done. They estimated the 185 pounds of marijuana had a street value of at least $250,000.

Charged Friday in Shawano County Circuit Court with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance were Randal Fenske, 60, and Aubrey Fenske, 29, both of Eland.

Both were listed as having nonpublished numbers when The Associated Press tried to call them.

Marathon County authorities said they expect to file charges in the case.
