On Sept. 17, one of the front page headlines proclaimed: “Offshore drilling plan OK’d.” In the same article on A-9 Congressman Ron Kind is noted as saying the energy bill “was a comprehensive energy piece that sends us in the right direction.” Oops! We have a problem it seems. “The measure passed in a largely party-line vote of 236-189 in the House of Representatives.” Seems the bill allows drilling where the oil ain’t. Seems it is election-year claptrap that will go nowhere and be vetoed by the president.

Personally I think we should vote out of office any politician who has served two terms and has shown that he is incapable of working together with the other party in solving present day problems. In the meantime, all Congress members should wear hats with pinwheels to keep their current progress on the energy issue uppermost in the public’s eye. I will be watching for them in the Oktoberfest parade!
How much am I getting back if I vote for Obama? McCain? Palin doesn’t have enough background to be vice president? All the schmucks we have in the White House and Congress don’t seem to have a clue about solving current problems — so who’s to judge? Could you see these schmucks facing the task of writing the Constitution (which was 221 years old on Sept. 17?)
