Christian hip-hop artist KJ-52 will emcee Creation Fest: The Tour Concert coming to the OmniCenter, 255 Riders Club Road, Onalaska, on Oct. 22. Bob Lenz, among the nation’s top youth speakers, will give a message of hope, worth, courage and respect. Bands performing will be Kutless, Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, Fireflight, Worth Dying For, Kid Run, Esterlyn and Capitol Lights. Doors open at
5 p.m., and the concert begins at 6 p.m. There will be a collection of non-perishable food items, clothing and blankets for area agencies that support the less fortunate. Pro-lifers will assemble in silence from 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 5 at the corners of La Crosse Street and Losey Boulevard. If you plan to witness for the unborn, a donation of 50 cents per person or $1 per family is suggested. Signs will be available. For more information, call Peg at (608) 781-1779.Visiting neighbors and delivering bread will be the focus of “The Neighborhood Group” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4. Members of the group are Aquinas schools, Chileda Institute, Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, St. Rose Convent, Francis Skemp Healthcare and Viterbo University. They will honor the Feast Day of St. Francis by offering Franciscan hospitality to their neighbors.The 15th annual Pet Blessing will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 6 in Viterbo University Assisi Courtyard around the statue of “The Dancing Francis.” The Rev. Tom O’Neill will lead a prayer celebration. Guests need not have their own pets to participate.A faith-based sexuality class for youths called “Our Whole Lives” will begin in late October at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 2503 Main St. Registration deadline is Thursday. A class for high school students grades 10-12 will be two Sunday mornings each month through April. Another class for youth in grades 7 and 8 will be Sunday evenings beginning in mid-October. Prior to registration, parents are required to attend an orientation session. Students may request an informational packet by calling (608) 784-8137. Classes, open to students of all sexual orientations, are limited to 18 students.A gospel quartet, The Assemblymen of Rockford, Ill., will present a free concert at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at Lighthouse Assembly of God, 762 W. Clifton (Hwy. 16), Tomah. The southern gospel singers will introduce new recordings. Doors open at 6 p.m.; seating is on first-come, first-served basis.
