John McCain’s proposals to address the energy crisis with increased oil drilling and the construction of new refineries and dozens of nuclear power plants would create hundreds of thousands of high-paying trades jobs for the next two generations.
While the Democratic leadership and Barack Obama keep hoping windmills and solar power will answer our future energy needs, McCain has realistic solutions that will actually make things happen and result in the creation of high paying union jobs.
Not only would there be the creation of new jobs, but increased energy production is the only hope for sustaining heavy industry in our country.
The future belongs to the country that can generously supply abundant energy for its industries.
Even while pursuing these solutions, McCain is decidedly in favor of promoting green energy and smart applications of high tech solutions to cut our dependence on oil. The difference between McCain and Obama is that McCain knows there has to be a realistic transition period between the old and the new.
As for Obama, aside from his socialistic leanings, we cannot be sure where he stands on this or on any issue. Compared to McCain (and even Sarah Palin) he has hardly any record of accomplishment. With McCain we know what we are voting for.
