Vickie Lynn Russell
Vickie Lynn Russell, formerly of French Island (Wis.), passed away on Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at St. Joseph Community Care Center, La Crosse, surrounded by her loved ones. She had courageously battled a lengthy illness.
Vickie is a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Vickie loved to talk with her friends, brag about her two sons and three grandchildren, eat lots of candy and watch spooky movies.
Vickie is the daughter of Fay Russell of French Island and the late Jim Russell. She is the granddaughter of Mabel (Bob) Hall of French Island. Vickie leaves behind her beloved mother and grandmother; and two brothers, Randy (Lisa) Russell of West Salem and Jeff Russell (special friend, Lynn Butterfield) of French Island. She has two sons, Shawn (Melodie) Russell of La Farge and Steven (special friend, Robin Blackdeer) of West Salem. She is grandmother to Cody, Jack and Cailey Jo Russell and Mackenzie Rae Blackdeer. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank the Gundersen Lutheran Hospice Program and St. Joseph’s Care Center for keeping her comfortable these past few months and also her friends and relatives who took time to visit her. She loved all the attention.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dickinson Family Funeral Home (809 Gillette St.). Family and friends may call from noon to until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family. Love ya, Ma.

SOLDIERS GROVE — John C. McCormick, 80, of Soldiers Grove died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Phillips Catholic Church at Rolling Ground. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Thursday to services at the church.
