HILLSBORO — Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a Beloit, Wis., man suspected in several home burglaries reported Thursday in Hillsboro.
Hillsboro police said they are looking for Edward R. Heaton, 21, after he eluded several law enforcement agencies during a lengthy foot chase.
Hillsboro police and the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department were investigating burglaries at several homes Thursday morning when Heaton was found. He fled on foot, officials said.
Officers from Hillsboro, Vernon County, Juneau County, Union Center, Wonewoc and Elroy all searched for Heaton, along with a K-9 unit. The suspect was tracked for 2½ miles but could not be captured.
