Two La Crosse middle schools honored

Two La Crosse middle schools were recognized Monday for being named Exemplary Middle Schools by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators.

Logan Middle School was honored for high growth in math in a school with a high poverty population, while the School of Technology and Arts II, a district charter school, was recognized for high growth in math.
Troy Harcey, Logan Middle School principal, said the awards speak highly of the schools. “It’s fun and enjoyable to come up here and celebrate” students and staff, he told school board members.

" I am glad to hear that la Crosse's middle schools are being recognized for excellence. Perhaps the school board would spend some of their reserve fund ($33 million in taxpayer money) to reward these schools with improved facilities. "
