KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) - Opponents of a proposed ban on smoking in Kenosha workplaces marched to Monday night's City Council meeting to express their views.

About 100 people took part, many of them owners, employees and customers from the city's taverns.
Sunset Grille owner Stacey West-Rivera said she hopes the event motivates people to think about the proposed ban.

An advisory referendum on the Nov. 4 ballot asks if voters would support a ban.

West-Rivera said the proposed ordinance could lead to tavern employees losing their jobs.

Two people spoke in favor of the proposal, including a woman who spoke of losing relatives to emphysema.
