I’m not sure which Bible you used as a reference sir, but I am betting that it is missing quite a few pages.
Let’s start with capital punishment. In Exodus 21:23-25 God himself is telling Moses, “But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life ...” In the book of Numbers, chapter 35 spells out for us situations in which we are directed by God to apply the death penalty and the process of determining guilt. These are but two of many examples that refute your claims.
Moving on to the subject of war, Exodus 15:3 shows us Moses and his people singing to the Lord, “The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.” Also, much of the 31st chapter of Numbers tells of God commanding Moses and his people to war against the Midianites. This is summed up nicely in Numbers 31:7, “And they warred against the Midianites, as the Lord commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.“
I am not saying that the war in Iraq is right or wrong. I am not saying we should begin mass executions of law breakers. I am saying that to judge one’s Christianity based on their political affiliations, using your selective research as a basis, is wrong. Christians have differing opinions, just like everyone else.
I’m not seeking an argument, just filling in some blanks for you.
