Chili cook-off results are in

The verdict is in for State Bank Financial’s 17th annual chili cook-off Saturday at the South Side Oktoberfest grounds.

More than 1,000 people tasted 32 chili recipes and cast their votes for the best in a number of categories, said Brittany Bybee, event chairwoman.
All proceeds from the cook-off will go to local DARE and GREAT programs and Habitat for Humanity.

Best Overall Chili: People’s Food Co-op

Best Artistic Display: Dahl Automotive, “Dahl’s Best Dressed Chili”

" I think they need some more categories. Why would they promote and give proceeds to DARE, a program that has been proven to be ineffective other than getting a bunch of money from donations and goverment? There must be something more productive to donate to. "
