Senior Ashley Sorenson scored three first-half goals to surpass Jessica Bischoff in both career categories. Sorenson now has 50 goals and 121 points in her career.
The V-Hawks (8-6-1, 4-1) moved into a tie with St. Ambrose and Grand View for the MCC lead and three games left on the schedule.

Tomah High School graduate Abby Breitung had seven kills as the V-Hawks beat Macalester 25-23, 25-16, 25-15 to win the final match of the two-day tournament. Loras defeated Viterbo 25-16, 18-25, 25-20, 26-24.

The V-Hawks managed just four shots, and none of them got by Nenad Simovic as Nebojsa Jevtovic’s goal in the 14th minute was enough to lift the Mustangs. Viterbo’s Elliott Purdom stopped four shots, getting two in each half.

The Eagles won the men’s title and placed second in the women’s race. Paul Moran (fourth, 25:27), Connor Lonning (fifth, 25:36) and Kyle Coghlan ninth, 26:11) led the men, while Megan Johnson (11th, 23:06), Katelynn Williams (13th, 23:20) and Lauren Moss (15th, 23:22) led the women.

The Warhawks lost only at No. 3 doubles in knocking the Eagles from the ranks of the conference unbeaten. UW-L received its only victory at No. 3 doubles, where Kelly Kuether and Megan Fallon beat Kathleen Kappel and Kelly Rutkowski 9-7.
