IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Viterbo University men’s golf team sits in second place after the first day of the Midwest Classic Conference Championships at Finkbine Golf Course.

The V-Hawks shot 297, which puts them 14 strokes behind first-place St. Ambrose.
Viterbo’s Derrick Meier and Michael Hesselman are tied for fourth place after shooting 71. Onalaska High School graduate Jason Jorgensen shot 76, and Onalaska Luther graduate Cortney Boyle shot 79.

WOMEN: The Viterbo women shot 743 and are in fourth place after the second round of the MCC Championships at Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta, Iowa. Trisha Peterson and Cheslea Dunnum are tied for 17th place at 183.
