The Mayor has a lock-step with 9 Council members. As they pass favors, paybacks, Chairman gavels, etc. What we have is a 'majority' of a Council who are preoccupied with politics and garnering/retaining power, rather than standing back and seeing a given vote can actually stand on it's own legs. This is not Washington people, for goodness sakes! "

" Oldglory- "Angry people"? Could you name any of those people who have raised their voices at a public Forum or other, more . Now, we have a City Planner/Inspection Department Head. I personally saw and heard him 'go off' at a Harbor Commission Meeting, and an RDA Meeting. I have available testimony that he called a Councilman one night and hollered so loud their spouse could hear it across the room. There is anger! Then add to that after another RDA Meeting when the Chairman was stopped coming out By WIZM, 'he' hollered "you do not have to talk to them" (media). There is something very wrong at City Hall and I do not think it is this group of local residents/activists. This group of City leaders have brought on this themselves with egrigious mistakes and ommissions. Purposeful or not! "

You just illustrated how ignorant you are on the issue. If the City goes into the 'Ambulance Business' it will affect many outlying municipalities. But I guess we did not hear a word about that possibility given two minutes to speak at Johnsruds public meeting. You will see Mayor Poellinger jump on the Anti side as well, as well as former Mayor Jack Miller. So run with that glory. Have you ever heard the term 'bedroom community'? Are we supposed to discount the affects of a City 'Ambulance Business' just as we have done with condemnation in this town. Hand picked condemnation it seems, sidestepping favored individuals? "

Instead Johnsrud and Czar Kirch ran a $15.9 million TIF project in two days without the benefit of seeing a set of plans or contract. Then Councilman Richmond took it upon herself later to peruse the plans at the on site construction trailer. Where it clearly was printed 'Banquet Room'. A Room that the Mayor told us all in the Tribune it was a 'Meeting Room' with a 'Warming Kitchen', next to building One with "700" LHI employees. Add to that the Municipal Harbor attempted 'Shakedown'. and the 3 plus year Pettibone Campground Train wreck still hanging. NOBSL, these people are either very stupid or liars. "

Further more the soon to be ex mayor and goofy fire chief will not listen either. This is also a city that cant count how much and what they sell at the concession stand at the Lacrosee center instead just dump all the money on the table at the end of the night. "

Quoting:"Tober says the firefighter-paramedics at the four fire districts currently providing advance life support services — North Naples, the City of Naples, East Naples, and Marco Island — do not provide the advanced medical services often enough to maintain their skills."
And "More medics does not always mean better service, Tober said. If there are too many paramedics, the experience level of each paramedic declines, he said. Tober said that continuous training is worthless without continuous experience."

" The fact that more medics than the system can clinically support dilutes skill profiency is actually the final conclusion of the Milwaukee Fire Medic study referenced recently by Chief Cleveland.
To quote the study:
“CONCLUSION
These data support the hypothesis that the achievement of critical care benchmarks is inversely proportional to the number of practicing paramedics in the Milwaukee County EMS system.
The annual mean for each technical skill has decreased for the 2001-2005 data set compared with the means established in 1987-1996, except for medication administration.” "

Attempting to flash out of the closet in the form of an 'isolated' public meeting at UWL. Where any alternative opinion or view was given '2 minutes'? Bailout, $45mil jail, $15.9 mil Riverside project, etc. Enough is enough. This is about drastically decreasing 'fire calls' and retaining jobs, and Department budgets, Nationwide. Our per student schools cost, State property tax ranking are all very high comparing, enough is enough. The UWL Meeting spoke volumes, Johnsrud was 'laughed at' several times, and looked like a deer in the headlights. It only got worse when he attempted to adjust. "

" When discussing the opinion of more paramedics diluting patient care, there are published studies stating THIS! Also, one study the fire chief often mentions, a Milwaukee EMS study, states the exact same thing. I think it is easy to imagine that many paramedics will dilute the skill level! In a disaster, paramedics will most likely not be able to do very man advanced skills due to the volume of patients. Triage will need to be completed quickly, and patients moved to a central treatment area that will be staffed by Nurses, doctors and paramedics. A large number of BLS responders will be valuable for triage and such. "

You see the difference between the regular taxpayer and an elected official is that the offical has , in his/her mind, raised themselves above everyone and truely believes they and only they know best and act accordingly. Secondly "Matt" at TSA should be ashamed of himself for injecting politics into emergency medical care. You have proven your worthlessness as any type of ground level respondent. My advice matt is now to seek public office. If a disaster were to occur you would want as may trained personal as possible. It is goverment responsibility to keep people safe not private business. "

Why do they need ambulances to upgrade firefighters to paramedics?
Either way...I am completly happy with TSA's service and I have experienced it a couple times. They are good at what they do, and respond quickly. Both times, in my case, the ambulance was there before a first responder or police officer was even on the scene. Not my idea of a lacking buisness that needs support from the LCFD. Why would I as a taxpayer want to pay for a service that I currently get for free unless I use it? I have not heard a quality argument yet from any city leader. "
