Husband faces felony charges in remote fight

.
HUDSON, Wis. (AP) — A St. Croix County man is charged with battering his physically disabled wife during a fight over a television remote.

A criminal complaint says 50-year-old Kevin Schreiber pushed his wife into a wall in June 2007 when she turned off the TV while he was watching it.
Schreiber is charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Schreiber's wife had suffered severe head and eye injuries in a fall from a horse in 2005. The complaint say a doctor reported the woman's cognitive function declined after the incident.

" packer backer - The packers have plenty of 6'4" 350Lb'ers and they don't push anyone around. "

" She clearly provoked him. That's never an excuse for violence. But why are we reading about this now? He pushed her into a wall in Jume of 2007? That's 15 months ago! My guess is they gave him some anger managment BS and he violated the terms. "

" Oh, come on! She turned off the TV while he was watching it. How rude! He shouldn't have smacked her around, but she was challenging him to do so. I bet she's been psychologically abusing him for years. Probably crying about her injuries for the last three years. He should dump her and find a woman cognitive enough to think before she acts. "

" Unfortunatly, this is all too common. Many spouses are abused by their mates. Most cases are the husband abusing the wife. You know, it takes a "real man" to hit a woman. Especially a disabled one. I hope he feels real "manly" sitting in jail for a while. "Heartless" is way too kind for a male like this. I hope she gets the help she needs to get out of this situation. "

" This guy is one of those who thinks because he is a man he controls the TV. She would be better off without him. He's probably living on her disability. Hopefully she has a social worker to help her. If she isn't able to live alone she could live in assissted living. Then she would have the quiet she needs too. "
