In his 16-year legislative career, Davids always fought for rural nursing homes, even to the point that several organizations recognized him for his work. Davids’ record speaks for itself: In the 10-year period ending in 2007, nursing home funding increased by 33.9 percent in Minnesota. Even when the state’s pocketbook was nearly bare, Davids protected nursing homes from the budget-cutting knife. That wasn’t always a popular decision among his GOP colleagues, but that just proves that Greg Davids puts us first and politics second. And when times were good, like in the early part of this decade, Davids helped to secure funding increases of five percent per year. Others unfairly criticize Davids, but I know he sincerely cares about our district.
Davids has a proven track record of fighting for rural Minnesota. I’m sure that if we elect him Nov. 4, he’ll pick up where he left off and be a strong advocate for our golden-agers.
