Area middle school musicians receive all-state honors

Several La Crosse area student musicians were named to the 2008-09 Wisconsin School Music Association’s all-state middle-school honor ensembles. Recognized were:
Band: Paul Escher, Lincoln, trumpet; Nick Howard, Lincoln, French horn; Amber Sanderson, Logan, tuba; Maranatha Gannon, Kickapoo, flute; Courtney Nelson, Kickapoo, B-flat clarinet; Kyle Williams, Kickapoo, alto sax. Orchestra: Raphaelle Siemers, Lincoln, violin; Nathan Myhre, Longfellow, string bass; Sara Ranscht, Longfellow, bassoon; Timothy Olson, Logan, string bass; Hattie Bestul, Kickapoo, B-flat clarinet. Choir: Irene Kelly, Lincoln, alto; Grace McConnell, Lincoln, soprano; Rose VonMuchow, Lincoln, alto; Emily Weaver, Lincoln, soprano; Jacob Johnson, Holmen, tenor; Jesse Kreger, Holmen, tenor; Sivu Schlegel, Melrose-Mindoro, bass; Hunter Evenson, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, alto; Jacob Henden, Viroqua, bass.
