Doctors at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center have seen more than 80 people with injuries from slipping on slick walkways, said hospital spokesman Chris Stauffer.

“There were a wide range of injuries, from small to serious,” Stauffer said.
Franciscan Skemp Healthcare in La Crosse and Winona Health in Winona, Minn., reported smaller yet still significant numbers of fall victims.
The most serious cases were head injuries and broken bones, Franciscan Skemp spokesman Rick Thiesse said.
Some region businesses have struggled to meet the demand for ice-melting products as residents try to keep up with a persistent pattern of thawing and refreezing.
Menards in Onalaska has been turning away customers after selling out of eight to 10 pallets of salt Sunday.
Salt was in short supply at Kroner True Value Hardware due to demand from downtown business owners and area residents, said store spokesman Dave Clements.
