- WHAT WE KNEW: State Rep. Jeff Wood, an
Independent from Chippewa Falls, was arrested Oct. 21 in Tomah for
third-offense operating while under the influence after driving
erratically and falling down during a field sobriety test. A breath
test showed no alcohol in Wood's system, according to the
complaint. He initially told an officer he had taken two, and then
later said only one, of his prescribed anti-depressant pills.
- WHAT'S NEW: Wood's attorney stood mute on his
behalf to the charges Tuesday during an adjourned initial
appearance in Monroe County Circuit Court.
- WHAT'S NEXT: A pre-trial conference is set for
Nov. 30 with a status conference Dec. 21.
