A convicted sex offender was released to a La Crosse group home today, according to La Crosse police.

Troy Baker, 28, will live at Attic Correctional Services, 809 Rose St.

Baker raped a 12-year-old female and had intercourse with a 15-year-old female.

He will be on electronic monitoring and is not allowed contact with the victims, alcohol or drugs, and can't be in a bar or tavern.

Baker is 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighs 216 pounds and has hazel eyes and black hair.

Police stress the announcement is meant to inform the public, not to create fear.
