La Crosse Tribune reporter Terry Rindfleisch and his dance partner, Katie O’Reilly, demonstrate some of their dance routine Friday at the Tribune as part of a Special Jeans Day at the office for the Scenic Bluffs Chapter of the American Red Cross and its fundraiser, “Dancing with the La Crosse Stars,” Saturday, Nov. 25, at Onalaska High School in Onalaska, Wis.
Several people remarked after the routine, “Terry, you really make Katie look great.” Rindfleisch countered, “It’s still a work in progress. It’ll always be a work in progress. Actually, I’m the one who needs to progress.”
Rindfleisch asked fellow Tribune employees to give generously so money raised can make up for his mediocre dancing. “The only way I’m going to be the next Emmitt Smith is to outraise everybody, and even that is unlikely because everyone I know has no money and has tons of debt,” he said.
He asks the public to give donations to the Red Cross on behalf of all dancers — Janet Papenfuss (Franciscan Skemp), Robert Richardson (UW-L Department of Educational Studies), David Amborn (Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation), Scott Horne (La Crosse County district attorney), Johnny Day (executive director of the Gateway Area Council of the Boys Scouts) and local disc jockeys Todd Hunter and Bender. Make your checks out to the Red Cross on behalf of a La Crosse star, and send them to the Scenic Bluffs Chapter of the American Red Cross, 2927 Losey Blvd., La Crosse, Wis., or charge your donation by calling the Red Cross at (608) 788-1000. |
